Some points to ponder?

Some points to ponder?
1. Bangalore which is known as IT capital of india also has another name which very few people know about?
The suicide capital of India.

2. United states of America although standing 1st on the ranking of developed nations comes 17th in the list of happiest countries of the world. One survey revealed that 1 out of 4 in US are suffering with depressions.

3. IIT Kanpur had one meeting between their chief staffs whether to remove hostel room fans. You know why? Because the students, the crackers  of one of the toughest exams  of this world could not crack the mystery of life. So, although they had high IQ's they lack one important quotient called EQ (emotional quotient) that measures our control on our emotions.

So, on contemplation we can see that all three have one common point that is The necessity to control our mind.
Krishna tells in Bhagavad-Gita, that mind if controlled becomes our greatest friend but if uncontrolled becomes our greatest enemy. So, modern civilization, education system completely neglects the teachings/practices of controlling the mind and that is the cause of our suffering in this material world. But, the people of our vedic culture were not as ignorant as we are. Instead they were much more intelligent than us as they were highly interested and active on working scientifically on their own selves than the outside world.
They knew the temporary nature of the outside world, all these developments will not going to give me permanent, everlasting happiness that I am searching for instead I will become more and more dependent on these things for my happiness which are not at all required for my survival. If you just make a list among things that you now and select those things that you need to live, then you will find 80-90% things that we have are extra that we actually don't need for our living but maintaining them, securing them takes extra bit of efforts and time and thus cause of our anxiety and stress. So, there is a simple formula that I have learned recently that less stress is directly proportional to less stuff.
That's why from vedic times to today also like Abdul kalam, Narendra Modi, Lal Bahadur Shastri etc...people who are intelligent all have understood the value of simple living and high thinking , the key to happy life and in that way they can invest more time in higher/important things like finding the solutions to our suffering in this material world.
The shastra like Bhagavad-Gita says that there are 4 real problems or sufferings in life that everyone has to go through   ...from Barack Obama to a little ant..that is (janma-mrtyu-jara-vyadhi- duhkha-dosanudarsanam )

1. Death
2. Old age
3. Disease
4. Birth, because after this all the above three sufferings start.
The rest all other problems are extra but these 4 are true for everyone. No one can escape from this and since it is beyond anyone's power to stop these processes even from Einstein to newton, so people ignore them but shastra tells that in human form we can make a solution to all these problems.
An animal cannot think and inquire about these 4 real problems but human can because of his developed intelligence and if he also does not try to solve these problems then his life is considered to be a waste. Then , he is considered to be no better than a animal as he has spend his whole life in simply working for 4 things that is eating, sleeping, mating and defending that an animal also do.
So, this athato brahma jigyasa as the Vedanta says, inquiry about our real problems..makes us different from an animal otherwise we may sleep in better apartment and a dog can sleep on road but because the activity and the happiness achieved in that activity is the same so, our mentality is considered to be no better than a dog. Similarly, we may eat in better restaurant and a dog may eat whatever he gets on road, we may be mating inside nice apartment and a dog may be on road and we may be having nice bungalow for our security and a dog may be having a little hut but that does not make us different from dog.
What makes a difference is asking questions related to real problems of life. Who am i? What is the purpose of my existence? Why i am suffering in this world?
The questions like these actually differentiates us from animals.
So, as common notion is that human beings are a social animal ,NO actually a human being is a spiritual animal.
